In 2022, KlebeBande realized a large-scale interior art project for the Cyber Valley in Tübingen. A holistic concept was created for a research and development center - next to the Max Plank Institute and leading vaccine research - that encompasses everything from the lobby, stairwell, corridors and glass to the common rooms and work areas.
The aim was to present the innovative technologies and scientific developments to visitors to the project in an artistically abstract way and to create a joyful, lively environment for employees. The design covered all rooms of the center and encompassed an impressive 7,000 square meters with a total of 120 walls. Various materials and techniques were used to achieve this, including wood modeling, wallpaper, glass design, Petersburg hanging, murals and canvases. These versatile materials and techniques enabled a multifaceted and detailed elaboration of the rooms.
The design focused on the themes of lidar scanning and graph structures. These complex scientific concepts were interpreted artistically and formed the basis of the visualizations and interior design. A particular highlight of the project was the design of the foyer, where elegant wooden bodies were used to bring the design from the surface into the depth of the room. For this, KlebeBande used different-colored wood veneer panels from regional orchards. This installation forms an impressive prelude to the entire science center.
The project in Cyber Valley Tübingen shows how creative interior design and scientific topics can be combined in a unique way. The use of a wide range of materials and techniques and the intensive collaboration with Steadway have created an inspiring environment that effectively showcases the site's innovations.
