In a private house in Berlin-Dahlem, we designed a unique room that gives the feeling of walking through a tunnel in an aquarium. Even though you are in your own living room. This mixed-media installation on the walls and ceiling illustrates various koi that appear to be swimming through the three-dimensional space.
The design of art in private spaces offers many advantages. It creates a unique atmosphere that reflects the personality of the residents and enriches their everyday lives. The artistic design transports residents to another world, leading to an increased sense of well-being and a deeper connection with the space.
To create the illustration, we worked with tape and foil to capture the beauty and elegance of koi in an urban context. The symbolism of the koi - strength, endurance and luck - gives the space a special meaning and a calming atmosphere. This installation shows how art in private spaces can provide not only aesthetic but also emotional and psychological benefits by creating a connection between the inhabitants and their living space.
