Public spaces - schools, facades and squares

For KlebeBande, working in public spaces is a source of particular pride. Cultural and educational institutions deserve a contemporary look that creates a connection to the visual culture of our time, making the buildings visible beacons of our democratic society and desirable places for their employees, students and visitors.

For the Waschhaus Potsdam, KlebeBande created a free work of art that integrates perfectly into the historical and listed ensemble surrounding the Waschhaus. Inspiration came from the simple, geometric shapes and colors of the surrounding brick buildings. The symmetrical basic structure of the building allowed us to create an innovative design that gave free rein to our creativity. Using façade paint and spray paint, a very calm, warm design was created on an area of 480 m², which lovingly envelops the building and allows it to flow into its surroundings.

The task in designing Germany's first tape art school, the Albert Schweizer Gymnasium 2020 in Crailsheim, was to visually separate the departments from one another. Inspired by historical icons such as Frida Kahlo and Miles Davis, we created a symbolic differentiation between the departments. In combination with our typical arrows and geometric elements, overlapping surfaces emphasize the liveliness of the school building. The materials included façade foil, spray paint and colored glass foil on 4 façades with 450 m² and glass surfaces with 800 m².

2023 we created a comprehensive art concept for the new gymnasium of the Grace Hopper Comprehensive School in Teltow, which we realized with various techniques in just a few weeks. The end result is an installation purely with wall paint, all contours were masked off with masking tape. The colourful graphic elements symbolize the joy of movement and are intended to make the space a place for students and teachers to enjoy spending time, working and being active. The different lines and overlaps are based on the various innovative U.S. sports offered at the GHG, such as basketball, lacrosse, flag football, softball, beach volleyball and many more.
