From the streets of Berlin to the coasts of Europe, via Moscow, Japan, Colombia to California and back to the German capital - the art of KlebeBande has gone around the world. As pioneers in tape art and in live performances with the technique of tape mapping, we have thrilled international audiences and have been working with internationally renowned brands and companies since 2011.
While our live performances have always been a mainstay of our work, since 2017/2018 we have increasingly focused on sustainable, permanent installations. These projects allow us to work more freely and conceptually and have a greater, long-term impact. With each new project, we broaden our horizons and set new creative standards.
Today, KlebeBande stands for holistic interior art concepts, which they realize in collaboration with architecture firms and interior designers for entire buildings, work and living spaces. Tape art has remained, but is being taken further: as special artistic wallpapers at hotspots, as glass designs and on canvases. To realize such large-scale projects, KlebeBande works with a large network of artists and partners.
While it was the first world record for the largest tape art to date in 2013 or the artistic interpretation of the Adobe logo in 2015, which still stands at the headquarters in San Jose, California, today it is primarily urban spaces that are being given new life by the KlebeBande. Milestones in this regard include the major project at the Hertzog department store in Berlin in 2019, which was designed on five floors in the Art Deco style, and the design of the facades and stairwells of the Atlas skyscraper in Munich.
In 2020, KlebeBande worked closely with the architects and interior designers to develop a concept for the artistic design of the public space of the school in Crailsheim. In 2021, work began on several room-filling art installations that run through the entire building in various technology centers in Munich.
Most recently, KlebeBande 2023 designed five floors of the Berlin Oberpostdirektion for the new office of Kleinanzeigen and Mobile.de - with large-scale mixed media art walls, wall-covering art wallpaper, glass designs, curated Petersburg hangings, object installations and 3D wall installations. In the same year, they realized a space-filling art concept for the gym of the Grace-Hopper-Realschule in Berlin-Teltow.
We refer to our collective of artists, partners and companies with whom we work throughout Germany and beyond as Bande.
