The challenge: to realise a free work and at the same time create a artwork in cooperation with the monument authority, which integrates into the historical and protected ensemble.
For the design we built up a raster, inspired by the masonry bricks of the surrounding buildings. Starting from this colour- and basic structure, we worked alternately on the elaboration of the design. The original structure was visibly broken. Colours and patterns are integrated beautifully into the surroundings. It looks as if we had thrown a lovingly woven Maya blanket over the building.
